The film was originally shot in Hindi and an English dubbed version, a process that a few years ago would have been impossible because of the various dialects. Nowadays, every company has an audio dubbing wing that localizes their films into different languages. Neerja is a 2015 Indian biographical action drama film directed by Ram Madhvani and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur's UTV Motion Pictures. It is a retelling of the true story of a young girl, Neerja Bhanot who saved the lives of around 300 passengers on board an Indian domestic flight from Pan Am flight 73. The film stars Sonam Kapoor as Neerja Bhanot, Suresh Menon as Dinesh Ghate and Manoj Bajpayee as Captain Prakash Lala. The film set its release date from 1 January 2016 to 20 January 2016. The film was released on Diwali day, 8 November 2015 across 350 screens in India. The film was banned in Pakistan by the government on 29 January 2016. The soundtrack album consists of five tracks. The soundtrack received mixed to positive reviews from critics, with "Complex" giving it a score of 6/10 stars. BBC described the music as "a soundtrack with a lot of spirit." BBC Music gave 4 out of 5 stars to the album. BBC wrote that "Each song sounds different, however the album lacks musical diversity in spite of being an excellent overall effort." BBC further praised Amit Trivedi's score in the track 'Aag' and compared it to Dabboo Ratnani & Anu Malik's song 'Dil Dil Pakistan'.
