Commentary The surah is Al Imran it is believed to be the first of the three holy books that were revealed by Allah. It speaks about the knowledge of God for all mankind and was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on a night when he had a vision. The person who wrote this surah is Prophet Muhammad himself who had written it in his own hand on a piece of paper and given it to his scribe, Ibn Abbas, who was just an ordinary man. It has been translated into Urdu as well as many other languages such as English, Spanish, German and Turkish amongst others. The main subject of this surah is to introduce Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to the world, to tell the stories of people who follow his teachings and also how they are rewarded for following his path. It prevents people from not following his teachings and accepting any other prophets that come after him, saying that if someone rejects the guidance from Allah then he or she will be punished by being thrown into hell. The surah gives information about how Prophet Muhammad was given the status of a beloved by God and tells how he was taught by angel Gabriel to recite revelations. How the Qur'an was revealed and how it is a book for all of God's chosen people. The last part of this surah, "Al Imran," is in fact the name of the Prophet and his followers and companions in history. Later in history, when many Islamic empires like Ghaznavids, Samanids or various Indian empires have ruled over large parts of that world, people would write "I am from Islam" or "I belong to Muhammad bin al-Hanafiyyah", which was also a title given to him by the people of Arabia. In Arabic language, this translates into "Sayyiduna Muhammad. Even today, it is still used in Arabic language with the same pronunciation and this usage of the title is also seen in translations of the Quran in different languages. This surah speaks about prophethood. The surah talks about how they are to be followed by all people who want peace, prosperity and guidance that they need to be the followers of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It also explains that when people follow his coaching they will live comfortably, but if they reject his teachings then their rewards will be taken away from them. The surah says how they should be obeyed by Allah's news, but if anyone disobeys they will be punished for their wrongdoing. The last part of the surah explains how Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was given prophethood before his birth, how he received guidance from an angel and how he used to write down revelations for religion. The surah also explains how many of his followers had been killed and they weren't able to find a place where they could live freely. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) fought for them, so that they would be allowed to live in peace and lead their lives without being bothered by anyone else. In the first line of the first verse, "Inna Al-Musafirun" is from three of the most beautiful surahs that were revealed by Allah to guide mankind. cfa1e77820
